Master of Music, Specialization in Piano Performance

The MM with an emphasis in Piano Performance prepares students for careers in music including:

  • Solo performer, chamber musician, and collaborative artist
  • Teaching in post-secondary and private studio instruction
  • Future doctoral degree studies

The program includes weekly studies in private lessons, piano pedagogy, literature, theory, and history in a friendly, supportive environment.


Applying to the Program:

  1. Submit a graduate application.
  2. Email Dr. David Viscoli to set-up an on-campus interview and audition.  In the email, also include your resume, cover letter, unofficial transcripts, and names, addresses, and phone numbers for three references to Dr. Viscoli.
    • The audition should include a minimum of three contrasting works from different historical periods. Must include a complete sonata and a virtuosic work from any historical period.
    • Although a live audition is preferable, if this is not possible, you may prepare a video.

Graduate Assistantship Opportunities:

  • Full and Partial Tuition Reimbursement
  • $5,000-$10,000 Stipend
