The Harvest Ball with Erik Koskinen and City Mouse
Saturday, November 5, 2022
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Hooligan's Madison East Center | 1400 East Madison Avenue, Mankato, MN
Since moving to Minneapolis 16 years ago, Erik Koskinen (pictured left) has amassed a following as a musician, songwriter, producer, and engineer. Koskinen has the ability to create a song and a sound, that feels natural, intimate and exciting all at the same time.
American Roots (United Kingdom) writes, “Erik is very much his own man stylistically. Sub genres are no use at all in describing Erik's music and perhaps a new genre is more appropriate.” Jon Bream of the Minneapolis Star Tribune calls Erik Koskinen “…the state’s best pure country singer/songwriter.”
The show opens with City Mouse, a regional music favorite. Their folk-rock blues styled music has been appreciated in the region for 50 years. The group remains strong today as the current band lineup has enjoyed 36 plus years of performing together.
City Mouse has played thousands of gigs and was an annual staple at Mankato’s People’s Fair and the Rockin’ in the Quarry event each summer. City Mouse performs annually and remains a fan favorite at the Rock Bend Folk Festival in St. Peter.
This Harvest Ball is part of the 2022 Fall Performance Series and in collaboration with KMSU The Maverick with assistance from the Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund.
