Blue Earth County Library Auditorium
Get ready for a spooky afternoon with Dennis and Michele Waskul, the authors of Ghostly Encounters. They’ll present avisually rich presentation about their book and answer anyquestions you have about all things ghostly. Based on two years of fieldwork and interviews with 71 midwestern Americans, Ghostly Encounters is a reflexive ethnography that examines how people experience ghosts andhauntings in everyday life, and how uncanny experiences and beliefs in ghosts reflect and serve important social and cultural functions.
Note: While children are welcome, please be aware that the themes discussed are more suited for adults and are not intended to entertain in the style of campfire ghost stories. For example, how ghosts facilitate the ways in which some people cope with grief.
