Celebrating Willie O'Ree, the first black player in the NHL. Willie's Boston Bruin's jersey number was retired this week (Jan. 19, 2022 ) in honor of him as a pioneer and as an ambassador for hockey. Two Minnesota State University Mankato College dean's want to make sure O'Ree's story is known.
