Dr. Chip Panahon Named Interim Associate Dean
- Following an internal search, with an excellent pool of nominees and applicants, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Chip Panahon as Interim Associate Dean of the College of Humanities & Social Sciences.
Dr. Chip Panahon is a professor in the Department of Psychology. Dr. Panahon joined the faculty in 2009 and has served as the department chairperson and program director of the School Psychology Doctoral Program. While he was serving as director, the School Psychology Doctoral Program earned accreditation by the National Association of School Psychologists and was awarded full approval for seven years. He teaches doctoral-level courses on consultation and prevention, supporting diverse students and families, and behavioral interventions. Dr. Panahon’s research interests have focused on behavioral interventions for children with emotional and behavioral disorders, interventions focusing on writing, and school consultation. He has published his scholarly work in the Journal of Applied Behavioral Analysis, Journal of Behavioral Education, Journal of Applied School Psychology, and Education and Treatment of Children. He has served on the Executive Board of the Minnesota School Psychology Association and the Editorial Board for the Journal of Behavioral Education. Dr. Panahon earned his Ph.D. in School Psychology from Syracuse University.
