Becker Makes Historic Win at the Advertising Federation of Minnesota
[MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA|MARCH 16, 2023]- Senior design student Zachary Becker won two awards at the Advertising Federation of Minnesota (AdFed) last Thursday at the Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis. The event, “The Show 2023”, is part of the national American Advertising Awards (aka- ADDYs) process of recognizing the best of the advertising industry at the local chapter levels before proceeding to the national level. As many as 25,000 entries are submitted nationwide at these local levels.
Becker made history by being the first Art & Design student from Minnesota State University, Mankato to enter and win not just one, but two ADDYS. He entered two works for the student “Website (Desktop or Mobile)” category. He received a gold ADDY for “Toronto Cupcake Website Design” and a silver ADDY for “Dan + Shay Music Website”. “A Gold ADDY is recognition of the highest level of creative excellence and is judged to be superior to all other entries in the category.” – AAF.org
“Zach has come a long way from raising cows and chickens to being the best design student in the Art & Design Department. He is the epitomic example of what it means to be a Maverick!”, said Seiji Ikeda, instructor of Art 436-Web Design II where Zach made his designs.
Becker’s works will now advance to the national level and compete against all others across America in his category.
