The Southern Minnesota Conference on Psychology(SMCP)
The 2025 Southern Minnesota Conference on Psychology (SMCP) Conference was held successfully on Thursday, April 10, in the South Ballroom of the Centennial Student Union on the Minnesota State University, Mankato campus. This year’s conference, themed "Recognizing Skills for Success," brought together students, faculty, alumni, and professionals to celebrate and explore the vital skills gained through studying psychology.






The event kicked off with an engaging morning of talks and panel discussions featuring alumni and professionals who shared how their education in psychology at MSU, Mankato prepared them for diverse and rewarding careers. Their insights underscored the real-world value of psychological training, from critical thinking and data analysis to communication and empathy. This event also featured a ceremony that recognized outstanding students, dedicated faculty and departmental accomplishments from the past year.
In the afternoon, students presented their research during a poster session, followed by interactive breakout sessions and psychology demonstrations. The event offered a hands-on look at the impact of psychology and undergraduate research.
