Theatre skills of acting, directing, management, design, and crafts, are applicable to the entire entertainment industry, including theatre, film, television, radio, etc. As a communication art form, theatre skills are immediately transferable to sales, personal management, public relations, and anything involving interpersonal communication.

We are dedicated to two primary goals: to provide students with the highest caliber of training in theatre and dance that will allow them to create performances of any kind at any level, and to provide the southern MN region with a multi-faceted, high quality theatrical and dance experience.
Our department presents 6 major theatrical productions during the Mainstage season, 4 Studio Season shows and 2 dance concerts in an academic year. We also feature a professional summer stock series, Highland Summer Theatre, featuring four 4 productions utilizing professional actors and students.
