This is a professional/applied degree intended for those who do not wish to pursue a Ph.D., although earning a M.S. degree does not preclude students from entering a Ph.D. program. The program combines coursework with an internship and culminates with a professional portfolio.
The Master of Arts in History is intended for students who wish to pursue a Ph.D. or other advanced degree. Coursework includes a minimum competency in a foreign language and culminates with a thesis.
This online certificate allows secondary school teachers and community college instructors to enhance their professional development, while offering the credentials for teaching History in “College in the Schools” courses.
