Psychology Peer Advising & Learning Center

Hello! My name is Josh Weber and I’m currently a third year majoring in psychology and minoring in criminal justice. I’m a Minnesota resident from Apple Valley. I can help in a lot of the major core psychology classes like Stats, Research Methods, and History and Systems. I have also been taking a number of elective classes like Abnormal psych, Developmental Psych, and Cognitive Psych. I look forward to helping in any way I can, even figuring out organization, note-taking, or studying tips!

Hello, everyone! I am Ariana Jacobs, a sophomore at Minnesota State University, Mankato. I am currently majoring in psychology and minoring in social work. My interests in school include being involved in the psychology club; I am currently the public relations chair. My interests outside of school include hanging out with my family and friends, being outdoors, running, yoga, and reading. My strengths when it comes to psychology would have to be statistics regarding psychology. I have always been great with numbers and math, so statistics comes easily to me! I am looking forward to working with you!  

 

My name is Karlie and I am from Fargo, North Dakota. I am a psychology major because it is my passion and an English minor because I can't keep my nose out of the books. Being a former hockey player, I still love to catch a game whenever I can, but when it is warm, you can usually find me out on a lake somewhere.  

 

Hi everyone! My name is Mackenzie and this is my third year here at Minnesota State University, Mankato majoring in psychology and also minoring in sociology. I am graduating this fall (2023), so I have taken a lot of major core classes in psychology. I can help with stats, history & systems, and electives. My biggest strength I would have to say is stats, and I know it can be difficult for others, so I am excited to be able to help in the tutoring center. 

 

Hi, my name is Jackie Sonnek.  I am a 3^rd year here but graduating this Spring with a major in psychology and a minor in sociology.  This is my 2^nd undergraduate degree.  My first one is in Broadfield agriculture with a horticulture minor.  I hope to get into a graduate program for a PsyD in clinical psychology next fall.  I have enjoyed all of my psychology classes and did well in them.  I have taken and could help out with developmental psychology, cognitive psychology, intro to clinical psychology, social psychology, brain and behavior, history and systems, and psychology of sexual health besides the required psychology courses.  Outside of school, I enjoy making flower arrangements, sipping on coffee, and hanging out with family and friends (especially when that involves going to men’s hockey games!)

 

Hello! My name is Bella and I am a third-year student at MSU. I am majoring in Psychology with a double minor in Social Work and Creative Writing. I love math, so anything statistic related such as Research Methods is my favorite! I have also taken courses such as Abnormal Psychology, Intro to Brain and Behavior, and Developmental Psychology! Outside of school, I work as a Direct Support Professional and love hanging out with my friends.

 

Halley Weinberger

Hi friends! My name is Halley Weinberger, and I am a senior at MNSU majoring in psychology and communication studies. I am interested in I/O Psychology and Social Psychology, and I am the president of the psychology club. I am happy to assist you in any area of psychology, although my strengths lie in research methods and social psychology/cognitive psychology courses. Outside of class, you can find me watching the sunset, eating ice cream, or spending quality time with friends/family! I look forward to working with you.
