Academic Biography

Carol Glasser joined the faculty in 2014. Her work focuses on community-engaged research, human–animal studies and undergraduate research experiences. A public sociologist, she connects academic research with the needs of communities, organizations and advocates, drawing on a range of research methodologies and a commitment to collaborative, interdisciplinary scholarship. She is committed to expanding undergraduate and community members’ access to meaningful research and creative inquiry, fostering inclusive and supportive scholarly environments and empowering students across disciplines to become confident producers of knowledge whose work contributes to their academic, professional and civic lives.
