Named for faculty emeriti, the department sponsors up to two scholarships for current Sociology and Corrections undergraduate majors, awarded every Spring for the upcoming academic year. When the scholarship is open for applications you will be able to find it listed in the university’s scholarship finder.

Students in the sociology graduate programs can apply for department graduate assistantships. Graduate assistantships are awarded on a competitive basis. Graduate assistant are employed by the department. Full-time graduate assistants work 20 hours a week for the department in exchange for 18 credit hours per year tuition waiver and a stipend of $10,000. Half-time graduate assistants work 10 hours a week for the department in exchange for 9 credit hours per year tuition waiver and a stipend of $5000. Students must apply for a graduate assistantship.
