Biography:

Hilary Winkworth is a costume designer, patternmaker, & crafts artisan. She holds an MFA in Theatre Design & Technology with Costume focus from Illinois State University and was the first student to receive a BFA in Theatre Design & Technology here at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Since earning her BFA she has been on a quest to see what is possible with her skillset. She has traveled the world gaining experience throughout the entertainment industry including film production, domestic & international live touring entertainment, theatre, dance, opera, circus, & more!

Some highlights of Hilary’s body of work include Trolls Live!, Paw Patrol Live! with VStar Entertainment & Paramount Pictures, Cirque du Soleil resident shows division post-pandemic relaunch, North by Northwest Entertainment film production, Omaha Community Playhouse, Montana Shakespeare in the Parks, Illinois Shakespeare Festival & so many more.

Hilary is also a sustainable fiber artist & founded a Minneapolis based sustainable custom garment business because everyBODY deserves a perfect fit. As much as it was a happy accident, she is excited to be back in Mankato getting to share what she’s learned with the next generation of theatre makers while getting to revisit collaborating with the wonderful faculty & staff here at MSU.
