Biography

Hilary Winkworth is a costume designer, patternmaker and crafts artisan. She holds an MFA in Theatre Design and Technology with Costume focus from Illinois State University and was the first student to receive a BFA in Theatre Design and Technology here at Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Since earning her BFA she has been on a quest to see what is possible with her skillset. She has traveled the world gaining experience throughout the entertainment industry including film production, domestic and international live touring entertainment, theatre, dance, opera, circus and more!

Some highlights of Hilary’s body of work include Trolls Live!, Paw Patrol Live! with VStar Entertainment and Paramount Pictures, Cirque du Soleil resident shows division post-pandemic relaunch, North by Northwest Entertainment film production, Omaha Community Playhouse, Montana Shakespeare in the Parks, Illinois Shakespeare Festival and so many more.

Hilary is also a sustainable fiber artist and founded a Minneapolis based sustainable custom garment business because everyBODY deserves a perfect fit. As much as it was a happy accident, she is excited to be back in Mankato getting to share what she’s learned with the next generation of theatre makers while getting to revisit collaborating with the wonderful faculty and staff here at MSU.
