Biography:
A Mapleton, MN native, Caron earned an associate of arts degree from Bethany Lutheran College, a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts from Minnesota State University, Mankato, a master’s degree in Communication Arts from the University of Wisconsin, Superior, and a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre from Minnesota State University, Mankato. Caron’s faculty career includes teaching communication and theatre at Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee, theatre at Bethany Lutheran College, Minnesota State University, Mankato and as Director of Theatre for Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, OK. Caron is an active member of the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, having served as a responder in Regions V and VI, and as Vice Chair for the state of Oklahoma. He’s presented workshops at the state and regional level on stage dialects, the International Phonetic Alphabet, pronunciation and diction, and photomanipulation in costume design. He’s received several awards including regional recognition for dramaturgy, poster and publicity design, costume design and scenic design, as well as receiving commendations in directing for Our Town and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Other professional affiliations include Stage Director and Choreographers Society and Theatre Communications Group.
