Biography

Originally from St. Paul, MN, White earned a B.A. in Speech Communication and English Writing from Concordia College, a M.A. in Communication from Kansas State University and a Ph.D. in Communication from Arizona State University. In addition to teaching, she spent the first 27 years of her academic career coaching college level competitive speech and debate. White’s primary areas of scholarly interest are Performance Studies, Feminist Theory, Forensic Pedagogy and Identity Development. She has served as the Honors Program Director since May 2018 and anticipates returning to the Department in fall 2026.
