Why are images important? How do we read artworks? What do objects made in bygone eras tell us about those times, & what do these interpretations tell us about ourselves? Art history majors learn to look carefully, analyze information, & produce researched narratives that clarify why art matters.

Degrees

Our programs prepare students for a wide range of careers that value observation, analysis and expression. Art History majors work in museums, galleries, auction houses, schools, colleges, and libraries, as well as in public relations, law, and publishing.

Real-World Experiences

Our classes are global in scope, theme driven, and designed to provide students with an education that prepares them for any number of future professions. Therefore, we offer practicum-styled courses, internship credits, a Museum Studies Certificate, and encourage study abroad experiences.
