Biography
Matthew Willemsen is an artist, designer, and educator. He received his MFA from the University of Iowa and started his academic career in 2000 at Louisiana Tech University. In 2005 he transitioned back to the Midwest for a position at Minnesota State University, Mankato. He is a full professor in the Department of Art and Design and teaches courses on logo design, brand identity, packaging, print production, and portfolio preparation.
His work as a freelance graphic designer, specializing in brand identity and packaging and his work as an artist, exhibiting regionally, provides students with relevant insight and practical perspectives.
