Description & Requirements:

Iota, Iota, Iota, or Triota, is the national academic Women’s Studies Honor Society. It was started in 1992 at the Metropolitan State College of Denver. The Greek letter Iota was selected for the name to represent the three goddesses Inana, Ishtar, and Isis.

Triota’s purpose is to encourage and support scholarship and excellence in women’s studies. Triota members strive to maintain the feminist values central to women’s studies and to encourage egalitarianism, inclusiveness, and the celebration of the diversity of women’s experiences. Triota’s mission is one of service to other women’s studies students and to society.

The Psi Chapter of Triota was founded in 2004 at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
