Profile
Dr. Kristi Rendahl, assistant professor and director of the Nonprofit Leadership Program (NPL), came to higher education after more than 20 years in the nonprofit in organizational development and fundraising roles. She served as a Peace Corps Volunteer immediately following college and has since worked for Habitat for Humanity International and The Center for Victims of Torture, and has consulted extensively in both the U.S. and post-conflict countries in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Latin America. She has also been a visiting professor at ITESO Universidad Jesuita in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Rendahl currently serves on the board of WellShare International and coordinates a speaker series called Prairie Talks that she started in her hometown in North Dakota. She has had essays and commentaries with Minnesota Public Radio, the Star Tribune, MinnPost, and The Armenian Weekly. She speaks Armenian and Spanish.
Her work in the nonprofit sector began during college – at a homeless shelter, with the Habitat for Humanity affiliate in that community, and during spring break home building trips to other states – and she has been working with nonprofits ever since.
