Biography

Amy Mattson Lauters earned her bachelor’s degree in print journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, her master’s degree in mass communication from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and her doctorate in mass communication, minoring in American Studies, from the University of Minnesota. A former print journalist and freelance web designer, Lauters continues to freelance occasionally and is the editor or author of three books: Navigating Visual Culture (2017), More than a Farmer’s Wife: Voices of American Farm Women 1910-1960 (2009), and The Rediscovered Writings of Rose Wilder Lane, Literary Journalist (2007). Lauters is internationally known as an expert on Laura Ingalls Wilder and Rose Wilder Lane.
