Minnesota State University, Mankato offers a challenging program designed to prepare students for teaching secondary social studies. Many opportunities are given to students to observe and practice social studies teaching in a secondary school setting.

Social Studies, BS

The Social Studies (non-teaching) program is designed for students to study from a wide variety of social science areas. This interdisciplinary approach provides the student an opportunity to create an individualized program.

Social Studies Teaching, BS

Students who graduate with a bachelor in teaching degree (secondary social studies) will be eligible for a Minnesota license to teach social studies in grades 5-12. Consequently, the program prepares students to teach all of the areas of the social studies with a concentration in one discipline.
