Spanish Program Study Abroad Opportunities
Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Study Abroad in Spain, Ecuador or Costa Rica program offers a serious academic experience that affords an opportunity to study the Spanish language, Spanish Culture, and Spanish or Spanish American Literature in a natural setting. The program welcomes the participation of not only those who intend to Major or Minor in Spanish, but also those who desire to use Spanish as a collateral skill for a variety of occupations. The program concentrates on intensive study of the Spanish language and Spanish Peninsular or Spanish American Culture. Course work in Spanish Peninsular Literature (Spain) or in Spanish American Literature (Ecuador) is also available for qualified and interested students.

Spain:
Application for study abroad in Spain (current students only). There are three locations with Estudio Sampere in Spain to choose from inlcuding Alicante, Madrid, or Salamanca for an accademic year or semester.
Alicante is the pearl of the Mediterranean, featuring a wonderful climate all year round. Estudio Sampere Alicante is located in the city centre, across from the "Teatro Principal". Postiguet Beach is just a five minutes' walk away, as are the Renfe Train Station and the Central Market.
You will hear some "madrileños" proudly say, "from Madrid to Heaven." Perhaps they are exaggerating "un poquito", but Madrid is certainly a charming city. You will study in the prestigious Salamanca district, just one block from the Retiro Park and a short walk from the Prado Museum and other magnificent historic buildings.
Salamanca is Spain's most prestigious university town and home to its oldest university. Hundreds of young Spaniards study here from October to June. Estudio Sampere Salamanca is located in a pedestrian street just five minutes from the Plaza Mayor (main square).
Ecuador:

Cuenca is the cultural capital of Ecuador and its third largest city. It is also Ecuador's best-kept secret. Cuenca and its surrounding region are rich in history with a colonial atmosphere. Cuenca is a city of fascinating contrasts: two universities, museums and art galleries stand alongside traditional indigenous markets rarely visited by foreigners. Estudio Sampere Cuenca is located in a detached building overlooking the Barranco River in the city centre.
Costa Rica:

Manuel Antonio National Park has some of the best beaches on Costa Rica`s Pacific coast for swimming and snorkeling. This park is a combination of rainforest, beautiful white sand beaches abounding in flora and fauna, and great views. Our facilities have a great view of the ocean and are just 2 miles from beach. Students live in Quepos, a small nearby town that is a short bus ride to Manuel Antonio.
