Gohi Gildas

My name is Gohi Gildas F. Dabe (most people call me “Gil-das” even if it is pronounced “Jeel-das”), I am from Côte d’Ivoire which is a country located in West Africa. I have one associate degree in human resource management and corporate communication. In my home country, I graduated from high-school and obtained a Technician Certificate in Human Resources Management and Corporate Communication (French associate degree).

In addition, I came in the United States in 2017 to study Marketing and Business Administration. Fortunately, I am now the owner of a Bachelor of Science in Marketing with two minors in Business Administration and French.

Besides that, I have become active on campus by being the president of the French Club. I am currently doing my Masters in French.

Moreover, I have been lucky enough to visit Paris in France; Brussels in Belgium; Morocco in North Africa; Ghana in West Africa.

French is my first language, I had to learn English to reach the desired level for a bachelor degree in the United States. I know the challenges that come with learning a foreign language. I have a strong understanding of the amount of effort and work required to be able to speak French fluently.

During my free time, I love cooking, going for a little car ride, watching documentaries on YouTube, spending time on social media platforms, and learning new languages. In the short-term, I am planning to work as a professional translator in the future. My long-term goal is to get a Ph.D.

Isaac Mbuotidem

My name is Isaac Mbuotidem and I am from Abuja, Nigeria. I studied French and Communication at Hamilton College. While at Hamilton, I also did a year abroad at Paris 3 - Université Sorbonne Nouvelle.

Currently, I am completing dual Masters in French and Information Technology. While these fields may seem at opposite ends, both human languages and computer languages have one ultimate goal - communication. I hope to somehow merge these interests into an academic career at the intersection of communication and human computer interaction.

In my free time, I enjoy playing soccer, reading, and learning Spanish with the end goal of getting a hat-trick of languages, Spanish, French, and English.
