We prepare students to become engaged, knowledgeable, and ethical communicators, advocates, and storytellers. We inspire students to embrace media technologies, create diverse stories, think critically about media institutions, and foster the public good by advancing socially responsible mass communication through education, research, and service.
Professional prospects in Mass Communication are more than the traditional newspaper editor and journalist jobs. Research, write, edit, and produce in-depth reports for radio, television, blogs, or social media. Gain hands-on experience in public relations, journalism, and website administration through both the campus newspaper (MSU Reporter) and independent campus radio station (KMSU).
