2023 Frontier Forum Call for Presentations

Application Instructions

I. PURPOSE

The annual Frontier Forum lecture series was created in 1980 to encourage scholarly exchange of research among faculty, students, and the community. The Forum provides an environment for sharing and stimulating discussion on scholarly interdisciplinary research, contemporary issues, and the ideas from the disciplines in the former College of Social and Behavioral Sciences.

II. CRITERIA FOR SELECTION

In this transitional 2022-2023 year, faculty members of the former College of Social and Behavioral Sciences are eligible to apply. A plan is in process to expand selection criteria in the 2023-2024 academic year to all faculty members in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences to best represent the merged college. Collaborations between faculty members and graduate students are also encouraged.

The topic that is selected for the lecture must:

  1.  Address contemporary or interdisciplinary research and debate
  2. Stimulate and be likely to encourage discussion
  3. Have the potential to engage faculty, students and the broader community
  4. Be the product of scholarship and one’s own research

III. LECTURE FORMAT

FORMAT:Formal presentation of up to 50 minutes followed by audience participation.
